Nicolas Crowhurst is the founder of The Collaboratus Group.
After qualifying as a barrister of England and Wales in 2000, Nick developed a reputation as a consummate corporate governance professional. He holds post-graduate qualifications in law, management science and applied corporate governance. His experience provides him with expertise in:
- Legal and corporate counsel functions, including negotiation and settlement of commercial contracts and commercial litigation management
- Corporate governance (as a Chartered Secretary and Director)
- Government and regulatory relations and
- Enterprise-wide risk management
Nick enjoys practical and intellectual challenges in stimulating work environments. These have included private legal practice, equity and investment banking sectors in the UK, Europe and Australia, external dispute resolution and not-for-profit organisations.
Born in the UK, Nick commencing his career in London, he moved to Melbourne in 2002 and has since built a broad network of connections throughout Australia. The need to rebuild both his social and business networks from scratch gave him an insight into the dos, and don’ts, of building strong personal and professional networks in a new environment. This experience significantly contributed to Nick’s ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of business and in any circumstance.
He is a member of Gray’s Inn (London), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Cmpany Directors Company Director Course. Nick also teaches short course and certification educational sessions for the Governance Institute.
He currently lives in Melbourne, Victoria with his wife and two sons.
